Meet Unicorn 🌈

Guinea pig | Sanctuary Resident | Sponsored 💚

Hello, I’m Unicorn. I’m a 6-year-old sow who has recently joined the sanctuary herd after the sad loss of my sister, Rainbow.

Because I’m an older piggy, I’ll now be staying here at Keki’s with the rescue’s lovely group of older ladies, where I can enjoy a peaceful and comfortable retirement surrounded by friends.

I’ve settled in really well and I’m loving the company, especially at veggie time! My absolute favourite treat is kale, and I never say no when it’s on the menu.

Why I Need Sponsorship 🐾

As a senior guinea pig, I need ongoing care, monitoring, and a calm, stable environment to keep me happy and healthy in my golden years.

Sponsorship helps cover:

  • Daily food, hay, and fresh vegetables (especially kale!)
  • Bedding, enrichment, and cosy living spaces
  • Regular health checks and age-related monitoring
  • The care and comfort I need to enjoy my retirement

By sponsoring me, you’re helping ensure I continue to receive the love and attention every older piggy deserves.

What It Means to Sponsor Me 💚

Sponsoring me means helping provide a warm, loving, forever home where I can relax, make friends, and enjoy my days without stress or upheaval.

You can sponsor me for just £5 per month, and your support goes directly towards my care and wellbeing here at the sanctuary, as well as the general running of the rescue.

What’s Included in Sponsorship 🎁

As my sponsor, you’ll receive:

  • A sponsorship certificate
  • Regular updates about how I’m doing
  • The opportunity to visit me and my sanctuary friends twice a year (by arrangement)
  • The knowledge that you’re helping an older piggy live her best life.

Sponsor Unicorn 🦄

If you’d like to help support my care, you can sponsor me by completing the form below or getting in touch with the rescue team.

Thank you for helping me enjoy my golden years 💕 Unicorn

How it works?

At Keki’s Guinea Pig & Rabbit Rescue, we strive to make the adoption process as smooth and transparent as possible. Here’s a summary of our step-by-step guide to help you understand how our adoption and rescue process works:

  1. Step 1: Browse Our Animals

Explore the available small animals on our adoption pages to find the perfect companion. Please check our requirements for suitable accommodation – which are included in the adoption profile of all our pets.

  2. Step 2: Submit Application

Fill out our online adoption form or contact our team directly. Please provide details about your home, experience, and confirm that you have read our accommodation requirements.

  3. Step 3: Application Review

A member of our team will review your application and aim to respond within 24–48 hours to discuss next steps and provide any advice if needed. Please note that applications can only proceed once suitable accommodation is in place.

  4. Step 4: Home Visit

A member of our team will arrange a home visit to check accommodation and answer any questions. There is a one-off, non-refundable fee of £10 for the home visit.

  5. Step 5: Reserve Your New Pet

Once your home check is successfully completed, a reservation fee per animal is required. This will be deducted from the final adoption fee.

  6. Step 6: Meet Your New Pet

We will arrange a meeting with your chosen small animal, either at the rescue or at the foster home. This allows you to see their personality and ensure a good match.

  7. Step 7: Adoption Day!

If you are happy to proceed, your new furry friend can come home once the final adoption fee is paid.

  8. Step 8: Ongoing Support

We provide advice and guidance for the lifetime of your pet. Our team is always available to answer questions and provide support after adoption.
