Hi there! Ebb (Smaller Female) and Flow (Larger Male) both aged 5 years old. Ebb and Flow spend all day everyday together. They’ll follow each other around, cuddle up with each other, demand food from their foster parents, and are not scared of any loud noises. They are very inquisitive and nosy. They want to explore everything together and will both get in very deep sleeps snuggled up. They’re comfortable around humans and any visitors that have been to the fosters house, they tolerate and do not mind a little head stroke, especially if they’re being fed their favourite food – which is parsley. Now the important bit – Flow has an issue with his eye. He has seen the vet (we can share the vet report) and we have had a second opinion from two other vets – Flow has cataracts in both his eyes with scarring to both. His upper eyelids are too long. The part closest to his nose has rolled over on itself, which is causing discharge because the eyelashes are rubbing against the eye. It was discussed about surgery to shorten the eyelids, however there is no guarantee that this would completely resolve the issue. So after getting second opinions, it was decided that given this was not having an impact on Flows quality of life, the surgery was too much of a risk to his life. In the meantime, management for now is to use a thick lubricant from a human pharmacy. This is to be applied 3 times a day. And since the fosters have been doing this there has been an improvement and they give him the eye-drops daily when they notice his eyes looking sore. Flow is booked in to have his booked to have his tear ducts flushed with our vets.

Home checks will apply. See how adoption works, from your first enquiry to the day you take them home.
At Keki’s Guinea Pig & Rabbit Rescue, we strive to make the adoption process as smooth and transparent as possible. Here’s a summary of our step-by-step guide to help you understand how our adoption and rescue process works:
Explore the available small animals on our adoption pages to find the perfect companion. Please check our requirements for suitable accommodation – which are included in the adoption profile of all our pets.
Fill out our online adoption form or contact our team directly. Please provide details about your home, experience, and confirm that you have read our accommodation requirements.
A member of our team will review your application and aim to respond within 24–48 hours to discuss next steps and provide any advice if needed. Please note that applications can only proceed once suitable accommodation is in place.
A member of our team will arrange a home visit to check accommodation and answer any questions. There is a one-off, non-refundable fee of £10 for the home visit.
Once your home check is successfully completed, a reservation fee per animal is required. This will be deducted from the final adoption fee.
We will arrange a meeting with your chosen small animal, either at the rescue or at the foster home. This allows you to see their personality and ensure a good match.
If you are happy to proceed, your new furry friend can come home once the final adoption fee is paid.
We provide advice and guidance for the lifetime of your pet. Our team is always available to answer questions and provide support after adoption.
